Despite the fact that we only spent three days in Singapore, we were super impressed with the city. From the extremely clean streets and subway stations to the amazing airport (more on that later) and colorful flowers all over the city, we were completely taken by Singapore.

Notes from the Road: Layover in Doha
When we booked our flight from Copenhagen to Singapore, we found an option with a long layover that would allow us to explore another city along the way. Score! We were especially drawn to this option because of the layover in Doha, Qatar, a place that wasn’t previously on our radar. The best part was that our airline offered a city tour for a little over $20 each that included transportation to and from the airport, so we didn’t really have to worry about making it back in time for our flight; that was all part of the deal.

Our whirlwind of two days in Copenhagen began with high class. Get this: The taxi we grabbed from the airport was a Tesla! Even our Airbnb host was surprised when we rolled up in such an expensive car. We spent our first evening settling into our cute flat and planning the next couple days.

In February 2018, Riki and I had a few drinks at our apartment in California and spent the evening showing each other “our London” (aka where we lived, went to school, and hung out during our study abroad semester in 2009) via Google Maps. We declared we desperately missed our favorite city and even looked up last-minute flights from LA to the UK. We didn’t pull the trigger then, but I did put a reminder in Riki’s phone that read, “London, baby!” He looked at that reminder every day for 18 months. This week, he finally checked it off his list as we spent four days in London together.

I’m gonna level with you guys. There aren’t many sweet treats I don’t like. Ice cream? I’ll take two scoops. Pastries? Si vous plait. Cupcakes, pies, and tarts? Yes, please. Cookies? My ultimate favorite; keep ’em coming. It should come as no surprise, then, that I fell in love with dulce de leche while visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina.
